Capture picture perfect memories of your wedding

If you are the kind of person who would choose a big, fat wedding, chances are high that you will spend months planning it. Before you know it, you wedding will be over in a flash. You will be wishing for a time machine to go back to those beautiful special memories. And that’s what your wedding photographers are for. In order to decide the kind of photographs you want, go through as many ideas as you can. Do a thorough research on the works of different photographers. This will help you communicate better with your photographer too so they can deliver exactly what you expect.

Once you’ve booked your photographer, it is very important to clearly tell them what exactly you are looking for. This will enable you to figure out how comfortable you are with them, and whether they will be willing to accommodate all your wishes. Sit together with your photographer and plan out the kind of shots he or she must capture during the ceremonies, the family members or guests you would like them to focus most on, and so on. Below are carefully chosen questions that you need to ask you photographer before your D-Day.

  1. Do you have my date available?

The most important question of all. You don’t want to fall in love with a particular photographer’s work and then later be told that he will not be available on your D-Day.

This is the very first question you should ask before inquiring any further.

  1. What styles do you specialize in?

There are different styles of wedding photography. Would you like more contemporary or traditional? Do you want your photos to be very artistic or in a documentary style?

The key is to find a photographer who can match and deliver the style you have in mind. If you are not sure and need to see sample images for each style, check out Chirag Entertainments.

  1. Can I provide a list of specific shots I would like to get?

Many brides have ideas of poses and shots they would like for their weddings. Unfortunately, not all wedding photographers believe in working from a list of images.  Asking this upfront makes the photographer aware and also shows you how easy going they are to work with.

  1. Do you offer online gallery with my images?

Each wedding photography studio varies in the time it takes to produce and deliver your pictures. Studios that do not do any post production or color correction may try to entice you by saying your photos will be ready within the week, or even the next day. However, most studios that develop and produce their images will take anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 months. Chirag Entertainments has developed a consistent production schedule in order to deliver an amazing product in an exceptionally quick manner.

  1. What exactly is included in your packages?

When comparing fees, check whether prints, albums and proofs, as well as extra coverage such as post-wedding or pre-wedding shoots, are covered. They can all alter the costs significantly. Chirag Entertainments offer you packages at affordable rates.

  1. Can you show me a wedding, from start to finish, that you’ve shot?

It’s understandable for a photographer to produce a “greatest hits” book of photos since it shows off his best work but a complete wedding gives a more realistic idea of what you’re hiring them to do. Check out Chirag Entertainment to see their wedding coverage diary.

  1. What kind of equipment do you use? Do you have backups?

While wedding photographers don’t necessarily need the best of the best, it is important to have a good set of equipment. Make sure your photographer has at least the following items along with backups. Nothing would be worse than for the photographer to miss half of your weddings because his camera or lens broke, and he didn’t have a spare.

  1. What information do you need from me before the wedding day?

Give your photographer all the information they need prior to the day so they can be left to do what they do best. They will want to know the exact locations of the ceremony, reception and party, as well as the exact times of the day, where you will be getting ready, what time you will be leaving to go to the venue, what time is the function, this ensures your photographer knows where to be at the right time. This is why hiring a professional wedding photography is so important, Chirag Entertainments have experience of knowing where to be at the right time, where to get the best shots, events that will unfold at certain times and likely photos that will capture true emotion of the day.

  1. Are you the photographer who will be shooting my wedding?

Sometimes the person who you will be in touch will not be the one performing the service on your wedding. It is important that you meet the right person and detail him on the type of photographs you need.

  1. How many camera people and cameras will be operating on the day?

the more shooters and cameras, the more pictures you’ll have but do you want lots of pictures, or do you just want to capture the key moments?

This is a very individual choice, but you should know how many people will on-ground with you on your big day and, obviously, this will depend on your wedding photography budget and whether or not you want more than one shooter at your wedding.

  1. Is the final film delivered on a DVD, Blu-ray, USB or online?

Most videographers deliver the photographs and videos in a USB nowadays. Chirag Entertainments delivers their customers their special moments in DVD-ROMs.

  1. Are all of them from actual events or were some of the images “staged” or done with models?

With a seasoned professional this can be a reality that you will get these amazing images, but with some new photographers this may pose a problem with your final images not being what you expected, especially with REAL weddings where lighting can change very quickly. 1. How much do you Charge?

  1. How familiar is your team with religious rituals? Would you be able to do justice to a..let’s say a traditional Tamil Brahmin Wedding / Christian Kerala wedding?

Make sure that your photographer knows well in detail about your customs and rituals. Make sure they sit down with the family to understand more about each and every part of the ritual. 1. How will be the Album / Photo-book design?

Neat, Clean, Simple and elegant album layout is the most preferred. You don’t want your images cut and pasted in some foreign backdrop and some waterfalls etc.

  1. What is the difference between CANDID and TRADITIONAL Wedding photography?

CANDID PHOTOGRAPHY

The Candid wedding photographer captures a wedding as it is. No one is asked to pose, no one is asked to stand and smile the way it is apt for photography. Moments and events and emotions are captured from the behind, you just wouldn’t know we have clicked you with all your best expressions. The rituals aren’t interrupted; people’s smiles aren’t crafted and perfected. We will just let you be your best self, and we will poke our lens right through your moments without you knowing there is a camera roll behind.  Learn more about CANDID PHOTOGRAPHY

TRADITIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY

Traditional wedding photography is the complete opposite of Candid Photography. They will ask you to pose and smile and weave expressions. A lot of things about your wedding photography are staged. Which is also a good thing because you decide what should be clicked, and shouldn’t be clicked? The order of the wedding is categorically captured, the ‘sequence’ of people gifting you is thoroughly shot, and the photography throughout the event is ‘consistent’. It’s not flashy, it’s very straight forward, and very studio-ish, so you will know what to expect in your wedding album.

  1. What is Wedding Film? Wedding Cinematography? Wedding Highlights?

Wedding moments are a motion form Candid/Artistic Photography. The shots are taken cinematically. The angles are coordinated extensively such that they involve a lot of cinematic film-making aspects. To throw some technical jargon in, we use ultra-wide-angle shots, telephoto, macro, creative shots, smooth shooting, low light shots and solid editing etc., to give you a Monsoon Wedding Part 2. This is just film-making at its best. Only happy endings and too many colors and pretty faces to boot, you will love watching it.  Learn more.

  1. What is the ‘normal’ number of photographs that you would give us?

Normally there will be a minimum of 600 Photographs per event, the number variation might happen depending on how long your wedding rituals is.

  1. What is Candid Wedding Photography? Can you explain in Detail?

Whether or not candid wedding photographers are necessary for your wedding depends on your expectation from your wedding photographs. If all that you want is, there be some pictures of all the guests, especially when they are participating in rituals, and you are not too worried about the ‘visual quality’ of pictures, you don’t have to be looking for any of the candid wedding photographers India has. Any studio photographer will do. However, if you want visually stunning pictures that portray emotions, feelings, energy, chaos from one of the most special days of your life, then you better have an artistic photographer (who typically take candid shots and not instructed / posed pictures).

  1. What about advance booking payment?

Discuss with your photographer on terms of advance payment. You might need to pay a minimal amount to book them for your wedding. The payment terms must be discussed well in advance, so as to avoid disputes later on.
